Robyn Watson

A native Texan, Robyn Watson began playing bassoon at the age of 10. She received her BM in Music Technology from Belmont University, MM in Performance from the University of Houston, and in May 2022 earned a Performer’s Diploma from SMU. Robyn has been a part of music festivals in the US, Canada, and France. She has been a preferred substitute musician for orchestras all over Texas and Louisiana, and has performed at both the International Double Reed Society and Meg Quigley Bassoon Symposium conferences. Ms. Watson relocated to Seattle in 2022 to join Trio de Bois, an all-female reed trio, and has since been asked to perform in orchestras and theaters in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.

Robyn has recently found a passion in performing and arranging flute music for the bassoon. Her 2021 Meg Quigley performance featured her arrangement of Cécile Chaminade’s Concertino, op. 107, and her presentation for the 2021 IDRS Virtual Convention included that, as well as her arrangement of Benjamin Godard’s Suite de Trois Morceaux. Her arrangements are available through Trevco Music.
